We invite the entire Sweet Paws Rescue community to enjoy this fun-filled day of music, activities, and local food & drink in celebration of our southern team’s amazing efforts and dedication. You won't want to miss this opportunity to learn more about our organization and meet some of our adoptable pets! Bring your family and enjoy lots of free kid-friendly activities! Well behaved, leashed pups are welcome! If you've adopted through us, this event is a great way to show your thanks and you may even have a chance to connect with your rescuer(s)!
Join Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm and the Essex Base Ball Association for a day of vintage base ball as we celebrate the 20th season of this partnership! The four teams of Essex Base Ball, the Newburyport Clamdiggers, Lowell Base Ball Club, Portsmouth Rockingham's, and the Lynn Live Oaks, play using 1864 rules. At these fun, historically accurate games, gloves are not allowed, players pitch underhand, and a ball bounced once and caught is an out. Bring a picnic or partake in beer and hot dogs from our friends at Ipswich Ale!

Theater in the Open proudly hosts Circus Smirkus' 2025 Big Top Tour! Every summer, a freshly auditioned company of Smirkus Troupers, ages 10 to 18, take to the road in traditional mud show fashion for a two-month performance tour of New England. Backed by professional coaches, cooks, musicians and crew, our Smirkos perform to sell-out crowds in Circus Smirkus’ very own 750-seat European-style one-ring big top tent.
The Friends Annual Plant Sale is coming. Save the date so you can spring into gardening with perennials, annuals, fabulous raffle prizes, and more! Children can register to come and read to a certified therapy dog. This program encourages reading confidence and is a fun way for kids to practice literacy. Sessions last for 15-minutes, and we ask that you please arrive for the time slot that you register for. Sessions are individual, but siblings are welcome to come and read together.
Come and build Legos with us at NTL! We have TONS of Legos. Feel free to come and build your own creations, or build off a project that has already been started. We will even put your creation on display! This will be a casual club where all participants can follow whatever direction their engineering intuition takes them, we will not be teaching how to make specific models. Recommended for ages 4+, with siblings always welcome.
Come by to play checkers, Scrabble, cards, Monopoly, Jenga, Uno or any other board game that you wish to bring or access one of these games that the library already owns. We also have some fun games like Catan and Betrayal at House on the Hill for Teens. NO SIGN-UPS, just drop in!
