Learn about owls at Sawyer Free Library with Mass Audubon in Gloucester Massachusetts

The Young Gloucester Scientist's Club meets frequently in and around Cape Ann to explore scientific subjects through experiential learning when possible. Hosted by the Sawyer Free Library the club is designed to nurture interest in science in a group setting. Late August's session is a day outing to the Burnham Field Community Garden.

Comic Workshop | Creating Comic Strips and Gag Cartoons

Join Boston-based author/illustrator Jonathan Todd for a four-week comic making workshop in Manchsester Massachusetts

Ages 11-16: Boston-based author/illustrator Jonathan Todd (the upcoming Scholastic graphic novel “Timid") is back, this time for a two-hour workshop on writing and drawing cartoons geared for laughs.  Registration is limited to 20 participants, and art supplies are included. Chess Club at Georgetown Library

Chess Club at Georgetown Library is and informal gathering where students can improve by playing each other.

The Chess Club at the library will be an informal gathering of students interested in playing chess with others.  A knowledge of how to play chess is recommended. Students in 3rd – 6th grade are invited to sign up.  The chess boards and pieces will be provided. No instruction will be available at this event. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Georgetown Library.

Teen Conservation Club: Fall/Winter Session

Teens will learn about Natural History, Ecology and Conservation at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary.

Interesting hikes, natural history topics to explore, and real data-collection opportunities will all be based on your input and interests in this exciting club for teens. Get involved behind the scenes with Mass Audubon's science and conservation work. We meet one or two Saturdays a month during our spring and fall sessions.  We also take one full-day field trip each session to connect with local organizations and learn more about environmental issues in our communities and how you can make a real difference. Meet other local teens who are passionate about nature, science, and taking care of our world. 

Kids Minecraft Club at SFL

Kids Minecraft Club at Sawyer Free Library in Gloucester MA

Play Minecraft with other children grades 1-5 (ages 6 and up)  Learn new tricks from each other and explore and build in a world together. This group is for children in grades 1 and up. Due to our child safety policy, at least one parent per session will need to volunteer to stay in the room the entire time of the program, from 3:30-4:30. Please register for just one session per month. If registration is full, please sign up on the wait list and we will schedule you soon!

Minecraft Club at Newbury Library

Kids can learn Minecraft skill from others at the Newbury Town Library!

“Can you teleport me?” “How do I fly?” “I need a sword!” “What are you building?” These exclamations are the sounds of a room full of kids playing Minecraftedu. Welcome to Minecraft Club, where children get together on our library's laptops to play one of the world's hottest video games! Thursdays sessions are for the experienced Minecrafter. Come and join us for building, creating, and having fun. Roblox can be played during this session. Online Registration is Required for the entire month. For kids ages 8-12.

Interested in building a website or cool app? Want to work as a team and build a project you care about? Join our new Girls Who Code Club. This club is free for teens in grades 6-12.
