Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the 24th Annual Outdoor Sculpture at Maudslay Exhibit September 10 through October 1 featuring 50 site specific sculptures by local artists addressing this year’s theme, ‘Fracture' within the magnificence of Maudslay State Park in Newburyport. Look for the large green trail head signs featuring sculpture locations and instructions for downloading our simple phone app which will include the sculpture locations, photos, and artist statements.

Join National Park staff at Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site for a 30-minute tour of The Iron Works House. Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site preserves and interprets the first sustained, integrated iron works in British Colonial America, which operated on the Saugus River from 1646 to 1670. Explore the place where European iron makers brought their special skills to a young Massachusetts colony. Saugus Iron Works is a twelve-acre National Historic Site that includes working waterwheels, forges, mills, a historic 17th century home, and a lush river basin.
Join the staff at Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site for a blacksmithing demonstration. How was iron turned into tools for the colonists? Join a park ranger for a special blacksmithing demonstration in a replica colonial blacksmith shop. Learn about the tools of the trade, explore the different ways iron was used by the colonists, and watch metal be transformed right in front of you! Part of Trails & Sails
Stop by the interpretation station to discover the stonework structure being featured! The park interpreter will provide both natural & historical details highlighting that area.
Enjoy an outdoor seaside showing of a Steven Steven Spielberg's interpretation of West Side Story (2021)! Westside Story is a modern musical representation of the classic story "Romeo and Juliet". The sharks and the jets are rival gangs fighting for the same territory. Tensions rise as a shark girl named Maria and a Jet named Tony fall for eachother, but there's a problem they can never be allowed to be together.
Make time for a traditional boiled lobster or lobster roll, chowder, or chicken, etc. and catch up with your Beverly friends and neighbors at Lynch Park. As you enjoy fresh lobster at picnic tables under the big tent, local bands will provide an oceanside soundtrack for your listening or dancing delight. Meanwhile, local businesses, elected officials and politicians, and nonprofit organizations will be set up around the park to share information – and usually some fun lawn games – with you.
The Pops in the Park concert on is a celebration not only of the 400+ years of Gloucester history but of the 70+ years of the Cape Ann Symphony. With the majestic backdrop of Gloucester Harbor this free outdoor event will be a special evening of music. It is a gift from the Cape Ann Symphony to the city we love.
