Come to the Manchester Public Library for a fun evening of celestial observation for International Observe the Moon Night! Bring your telescopes, binoculars, or use ours as the Houghton Family and Manchester Public Library celebrate International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:30 PM. We’ll have multiple scopes set up for you to use, and astro binoculars too. Light refreshments of moon pies, tang as well as moon maps, stickers, and other handouts will help us celebrate this great outdoor tradition at the library.

Tough will discuss cutting edge research that shows character, not intelligence, may be the most important attribute when it comes to children finding success in school and in life. The program, part of Brookwood’s 4 to 14 Speaker Series: Parenting Elementary School Kids, begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a book sale and signing.
You PLAN in advance; you UNDERSTAND the financial aid process; you ACT early enough to be successful. Financial Aid goes to the families who plan in advance - ideally before December 31st of the child’s sophomore year of high school. This course will teach you the concepts and strategies that will help you maximize your financial aid by understanding the process, and how implementing strategies may increase a family’s eligibility even if you have a “high income” or own a business. The greatest amount of financial aid goes to the families who act in the years before college.
Curiosity companions explore the woodlands of Bungalow Hill, Clarke's Pond, and meadows of Ocean Lawn - discovering the wonders of nature while using all your senses. FUNStart Sports Performance Training is designed for kids, ages 4-5 years old. This is a key time to develop speed, coordination, flexibility, balance and mobility. On top of that, kids can gain strength and learn basic movement patterns needed in most every sport. This type of activity is the basis for future athletic development.
This class meets one time per week for 45 min. Each class focuses on fun, but key, athletic movement patterns and sports which will support the development of coordination, strength, speed and flexibility. Most importantly, these kids will build confidence to take along their journey in lots of other ways!
