Teens are invited to a fun, hands-on cooking class with cookbook author Anna Tourkakis.
Participants will prepare and then enjoy a delicious and healthy dinner featuring: Greens with Black Grapes and Farmers Cheese, Vegetarian Quesadillas, and Caramelized Apple Slices with Ginger and Chocolate Drizzle.
Create a family treasure by making your own Russian nested doll, matryoshka, with Russian artist and storyteller, Marina Forbes. While decorating the dolls, families can listen to the folk music from Russia and try the “matryoshka dance”. Adults, teens and children six and up are invited to this workshop on traditional Russian arts and crafts.
Make some valentine cards, a collage, and more as we use art materials to create festive February fun on the half day, February 6, 1 PM! Winter is a great time to focus on birds. They are so visible with trees foliage removed, they are so in need of feeding, and they are going to be coming to the Manchester Library as live and paper birds this month! Please register. Our second bird program will focus on the art of Origami birds with Laura Geggis, a favorite of ours, coming back with her unique paper art instruction that works both audibly and visually for so many students.
Have you taken a beginning beaded jewelry class, but feel like you need a little help mastering a technique or have a project or two you've been meaning to complete? If so, this is the class for you! Finish up those projects or get advice and assistance tackling new pieces based on ideas swirling around in your head.
Join Artist and Art Teacher Mary Ann McCurdle for one or more of these new family art classes this fall. Each class will begin with a short story, followed by a nature walk, and finish up with a related art project as we celebrate the beauty of the season.
If you can build it, you can eat it. Join us for a sweet challenge of building creations with candies, cookies, and more. Each teen will be given “building materials” and creations to make in a timed challenge. Creations will be scored by judges, with a first, second, and third place winner based on performance. For grades 6-12.
Tired? Happy? Hungry? Your door hanger will be able to say it all. Join us and create different emojis you can swap out with Velcro! All ages welcome but best suited for kids over 4.
