The MIT Museum shows an exhibit of the art and science of holography with The Jeweled Net: Views of Contemporary Holography. The exhibition created in conjunction with the 9th International Symposium on Display Holography, co-sponsored by the MIT Museum and the MIT Media Lab. Over 20 holograms created by international artists, as well as several from the MIT Museum collections, will be on display, and will remain open to the public through September 28, 2013.

Highlights of this event will include a 1 mile race, a fun run and 5k trail/road race. This is not just a race, though. There's plenty of fun stuff to do at the farm that make this a day long celebration for family and friends of the runners with educational demos, music, children activities, celebrity chefs from the greater Boston area, farmers market and the local craft brewer community.

A geologist and member of Beverly's Planning Board, James Matz will present information about the geology and soils of the farm. Farm Manager Gretta Anderson will introduce participants to the 23-acre organically-managed community vegetable farm which is owned by The Trustees of Reservations.
The 19th Annual - Topsfield Six-Hour Run/Walk Against Breast Cancer, hosted by the G.A.C. United States Coast Guard Station Gloucester will hold its annual Safe Boating Day Event on Saturday May 18th, to kick off National Safe Boating Week, which is May 18-25. The event is to promote boating safety and awareness.
