Meets at Campground Nature Center - This is a casual paced bike ride through forest trails. Great for families and also those new to trail riding. Helmets are required and you should bring water and insect repellent and sun screen. Appropriate for children over 10 years old.
The ECTA annual ECTAthlon is friendly relay competition held at Bradley Palmer State Park in Topsfield and Hamilton and on private trails in Ipswich where teams or individuals compete in running, mountain biking, horseback riding and kayaking events. This unique event, which will be held on Saturday, June 4th, was envisioned as a way to bring diverse trail users together in a fun and exciting way, and to highlight the incredible network of trails in our area. The June 4th date also coincides with American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day, a series of nationwide events celebrating trails and trail access.
Meet up at the REI Tent next to the Nature Center, with REI Bike Shop Technicians and the Department of Conservation and Recreation for a FREE bike tune up and then take a ride through Bradley Palmer State Park and Willowdale Forest. Maps will be available for these self guided rides or take a guided ride with a Park Ranger at 10am,11am, and 12pm. Waterbottles, maps, and REI coupons for all.
All children are welcome at Big Mike's Bikes first annual Kids' Bicycle Safety Day at O'Maley Innovation School in Gloucester! We will have an obstacle course that teaches hand signals and rules of the road, a free bicycle safety check, and great prizes like new helmets and bike lights! We will be in the parking lot between the ice rink and skate park. Bring the whole family!
