Flag Day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official U.S. flag in 1777. Drop in and fashion flags, bookmarks, & more using postage stamps. Led by Spellman Museum crafters, Elaine & Amy. All ages are welcome, no registration necessary, free and open to the public.

The Friends of NTL are holding the annual Plant Sale fundraiser on Saturday, May 18 from 8:30am - 12:30pm at the library! For sale will be perennials, annuals, and hanging plants, as well as baked goods, Newbury caps, boat flags, Friends Book Bags, raffle items, and more! The Friends Bookstore opens during library hours, 10am - 2pm for book purchases. Please come out and support the library while picking up plants for your garden. All proceeds will be used to support NTL programs, resources and technology.
Book Nook is a weekly story time program for all children and families, ages infant through school age. Come and listen to stories, play games, sing songs, play with toys and build relationships with other families! Enjoying time in the Book Nook is a great way to startyour Saturday. Join the effort to protect our endangered right whale. Hear local children’s author Angela Kakabeeke share her new book, Whale Alert!, about the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. Angela is excited to work with Women Working for Oceans (W2O) and the New England Aquarium in sharing this story. In addition to the reading, there will be educational hands-on activities for children and adults, including whale science kits that reveal the unique characteristics of the right whale and the hazards that they encounter in our blue backyard.
