Start your Memorial Day weekend with a 5k, 10k, kids fun run or 1 Mile Walk to honor the memory of a local Saugus veteran. Scott J. Procopio was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005. He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi Iraq. The Race will start in Saugus Center.
The Essex Lion's Club hosts the annual turkey trot in beautiful Essex Massachusetts! This year the race has changed format to a 5K, and a fun walk. Race starts at 1:00 p.m. Registration is at Woodman’s Restaurant (upstairs), 121 Main Street, Essex, from 10:30 to 12:00. This race is sanctioned by U.S. Track and Field and timed by Granite State Race Services. Gauranteed T-shirt for only those that preregister.

The 12th Annual Happy as a Clam race - now powered by Great Marsh Brew Co, an excluisve Flagship Sponsor - is Friday, September 13, 2019! This event is open to anyone who wants to support a community school and all the wonderful enrichment programs the students enjoy throughout the year. The 5K route meanders through the beautiful back roads of Essex. The Kids Fun Dashes are always a hit, with even the littlest ones smiling from start to finish. The Bridge and Back 10k is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem . The race starts in downtown Salem Massachusetts, crosses the bridge into Beverly Massachusetts and onward to the Dane Street Beach. Runners then circle back to Salem for the finish on Front Street. The Winner’s Circle Running Club’s Annual Newburyport High Street Mile will start at Atkinson Common. This is a fast, flat USATF certified straight line course (USATF certification MA07009JK). Separate start times based on age division and sex. Proceeds will benefit the project to update and renew the Newburyport Track at Fuller Field and FONT (Friends of Newburyport Track).

The 1st LT Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund is hosting the 7th Annual Flag Day 5K road race. The 5K walk, run, or jog will go through the beautiful town of Newburyport, Massachusetts. We will be going back to Cashman Park for our registration and post race reception that will include live music from Dalton and the Sherrif's, food and drinks for all! Funds raise will go to benefit Massachusetts soldiers (and their families) through Run to Home Base.
