BevRec invites teens to learn the basics necessary to umpire Little League and Girls Softball games. Open to anyone who will be 13 years old by March 28th. Training includes rules of the game, on-field situations and umpiring mechanics for youth games. All participants receive a rule book.

Longtime instructors, Greater Boston Safety Training will lead this one day class (4 hours). This course is designed for Teachers, Coaches, Babysitters, Construction workers, and the general public. This classroom course includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA as well as CPR and AED certification training - all in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course is modular to meet the needs of a specific workplace or group of employees. The core module comprises general principles, medical emergencies and injury emergencies.
The new Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from ASHI gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, the magazine-format CABS guide and vlogger-style video make learning fun. Participants will be trained and certified in First Aid, CPR and AED.

You'll work with our staff and other youth exploring local habitats, collecting organisms and data, and discussing environmental challenges like sea level rise. Hamilton Wenham Youth Soccer is excited to begin providing referee training for our league. The 5-week Town Referee Training program will prepare participants for refereeing intramural games and to be an Assistant Referee in town travel games. Additionally, it will prepare participants for official USSF referee certification. This is a helpful but non-mandatory step to achieving USSF certification for 13 or 14 years olds interested in getting an early start as a referee & provide a new perspective on the game if they are players already.
Everybody loves Fireflies! Mass Audubon has been coordinating the Firefly Watch community science project since taking over from the Museum of Science in 2018. Counting firefly flashes is fun, but we are ready to think bigger. Firefly Watch Pro, the next step to our existing project, asks you to get you up close to the fireflies, photograph them to identify specific genera, and provide flash pattern data that might help us identify the species in your habitat. This additional data will help us learn what fireflies live where, and over time will give us a sense of population change for specific species and genera.
The Greater Newburyport Children's Chorus is holding open auditions for singers currently in grades 4-8. The auditions are held in groups of up to 4 singers and do not require any musical preparation. Singers will be asked to sing familiar tunes, such as 'Happy Birthday'. No music preparation is needed - we make it a comfortable, low stress process. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can register for a specific time slot on the website - www.gncchorus.org.
