Salem Living Green Expo at Derby Square in Salem Massachusetts

The Salem Chamber of Commerce and City of Salem Department of Sustainability and Resiliency are collaborating to co-host a Living Green Expo downtown! Come explore the Living Green Expo at Old Town Hall on Sat, May 10th (10AM - 1PM)!! Lots of great North Shore businesses and community organizations sharing their expertise, products, initiatives, and services that improve Salem, the North Shore and ultimately the whole planet.

Electronic Recycling at Landmark School

Landmark School in  Beverly Massachusetts hosts an Electronic Recycling event.

Landmark School is hosting a community Electronics Recycling event  for friends and neighbors to be able to dispose of their broken or unwanted electronics responsibly. The event is a community service fundraiser so a small fee will be charged for donated electronics. Laptops, cell phones, PCs, stereos, fans, blenders, air conditioners, printers, monitors, small refrigerators, microwaves—anything with a plug! Spread the word.

Composting for Kids at Stevens-Coolidge Estate

Kids will learn about composting at the Trustees of Reservations' Stevens-Coolidge Estate in North Andover

Spend your early release day building and playing at The Stevens-Coolidge Place. This drop-off program will introduce garden lifecycles, get your hands dirty building a composter to take home and finish outside with games in the gardens.

Solar Powered Art in the Garden at the Stevens Coolidge Place with the Trustees of Reservations!

Join The Trustees and ReVision Energy this spring afternoon to get creative in The Stevens-Coolidge Place gardens. Offering kid-friendly garden experiences in 30 minute intervals, participants will enjoy viewing what spring has sprung with a knowledgeable guide as they meander through the gardens. Each tour will end with participants using the elements of the garden to create solar-powered art. We’ll harness the power of the sun using solar paper and water to create a nature-inspired piece of art. While your new creation dries, take time for a picnic or enjoy a friendly game of giant Jenga or corn hole on the lawn.

Families will learn about identifying animal tracks at Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport Massachusetts!
Mammals such as squirrels, rabbits and deer leave many signs that they are active in winter. Learn how to interpret the tracks and signs or clues of active animals in winter. Stay active and warm with a group challenge about hibernation. Conduct an experiment about snow insulation.
