Interested parents, guardians and their children are invited to visit Eastern Point Day School on Wednesday, June 1st from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. to meet the dedicated faculty and students that make Eastern Point Day School a unique and enriching community for children and families to thrive.
Come enjoy a movie projected on a giant screen on the waterfront, under the stars in downtown Gloucester Massachusetts! Bring a lawn chair, blanket and your family for a night of Hollywood blockbuster fun! Food and refreshments will be available starting at 6pm, and movies will begin at dark!
Chill with the coolest guys in town in the heat of Summer! Enjoy a cool visit to Cape Pond Ice Company, icing Gloucester's fleet since 1848. We were featured in Sebastian Junger's account of The Perfect Storm. This tour highlights the history of the ice industry, with vintage film of natural ice harvests. See first hand 300-pound block ice being made (up to 350 tons per day), fishing vessels taking on ice and ice sculptures being carved in the historic icehouse on Gloucester's working waterfront. As the sun warms the ground, you may come across a snake that slithers away before you have a chance to see it. Amanda Cook of the Writer's Center is offering a free series of writer's Workshops for all ages on Wednesdays in the Sawyer Free Public Library (Gloucester) These classes are open to all writers interested in working on a Picture Book entry for the Cape Ann Reads (Manchester, Essex, Gloucester, Rockport) project. Classes will be May-October, Third Wednesday of every month, 1-2 PM, Sawyer Free Library.
