Fiber Fest at Sawyer Free Library

Trade in unused fabric and find something new at the Sawyer Free Fiber Fest in Gloucester Massachusetts!

the Friends of the Sawyer Free Library are providing an opportunity for everyone to trade in their unused fabrics and yarn. Bring them into the library and then join us on for a sale of the donated fabric and fiber.  All profits go to support SFL programs and projects.  Special: fest guests and hourly drawings.

Polar Esxplorers Club is for kids ages 7-12 at Ravenswood Park in Gloucester Massachusetts!

Join the Polar Explorers Club (after-school adventures for kids ages 7-12) for hardy adventurers ready to explore in the coldest weather. We'll learn how to read a compass and build a shelter, track animals and end our day around the wood stove hearing tales of high adventure. Dress for the outdoors!

Come to the owl Prowl at Ravenswood Park, meet an owl and learn to spot them

Have you seen the barred owls, foxes, or red squirrels of Ravenswood Park? Come to the Cape Ann Center for Learning & Discovery when these live animals visit, and get a close-up view of these creatures to learn about their habits and behaviors. From 1884 – 1917, Mason A. Walton lived a hermit's life in Ravenswood Park. He closely observed, wrote, and drew about wildlife behaviors and published a book in 1903. As we walk in his footsteps to the site of his cabin, we'll track signs of wildlife just as Walton did.
