MFA Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day with Free Open House

Free admission for all. 
All events are free. Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by surrounding yourself with art, culture, and community. Enjoy free admission all day long at the MFA’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Open House. There’s an array of vibrant, engaging, and collaborative programming scheduled throughout the day for all ages and abilities, presented in the spirit of Dr. King.

Akropolis Reed Quintet at Shalin Liu

The Akropolis Quintet will perform a FREE Family concert at the Shalin Liu Center in Rockport Massachusetts

The Akropolis Reed Quintet was founded in 2009 at the University of Michigan and is the first ever ensemble of its makeup to win a Fischoff Gold Medal (2014), Grand Prize at the Plowman and MTNA national competitions, and 6 national chamber music prizes in total. Hailed by Fanfare for its “imagination, infallible musicality, and huge vitality”, Akropolis has performed from Juneau to Abu Dhabi and has showcased at five national conferences. This concert is free, no tickets required.

Wenham Museum has a special New Year's Eve celebration planned just for kidsand families! Join us at the Wenham Museum for our annual New Year’s Eve Countdown to Midnight for families. We will have special performances, face painting by Flynntastics Faces, Balloon Animals, Festive Hat Making, and a Ginger-ale Toast at 12 Noon. Reservations are highly recommended. Everyone age one year old and up, needs a ticket for this program. The museum is only open for this event and will not be open for general museum visits. With reservation $10 Members, with reservation $12 Nonmembers. $15 At-the-door for everyone without a reservation.

NCS Winter Concert - The Rose and the Night Star - Matinee

The Newburyport Choral Society Holiday Concert is a true mix of traditional and Spiritual music to get into the Holiday Spirit.

The NCS Winter Concert features the 140-voice chorus, professional soloists, orchestra, and the Greater Newburyport Children's Chorus, all performing classical, traditional and “sing-along” seasonal favorites!  The program will highlight Camille Saint-Saëns’ beautiful Christmas Oratorio, various musical settings of Lo How A Rose E’er Blooming, and an exciting multi-cultural piece from South Africa entitled, Hope for Resolution.
