Appleton Farms invites families for a self guided Winter quest during holiday break! Grab your snow shoes, hiking boots or cross country skiis and get the family outside between Christmas and New Years to seek out our elusive herd of wooden reindeer sculptures found throughout the Grass Rides. See how many you can find and leave a bell around each one's neck. Bells can be found at the bulletin board.

Join the Trustees for some holiday fun on the farm and learn about the origin of this favorite Scandinavian tradition. We’ll start by decorating some delicious gingerbread farmers and cows with a variety of candy and homemade icing. After our creations are complete we’ll snuggle in for some entertaining gingerbread facts and read Hansel & Gretel, the story which spurred the popularity of gingerbread houses. Finish the experience with a traditional German holiday craft to decorate your own home with! Hot chocolate will be served.
Excited for Rogue One? Love all things Star Wars? Then this is the party for you! Come join us as we play Star Wars themed games, take turns trying out our Star Wars games on the Wii, eat some Star Wars themed food, and of course talk about our favorite (and not-so-favorite) moments in Star Wars to date.
An annual community event to remember family and friends. Participants buy a star in memory of late friends and loved ones and place the stars on the tree as their loved one's name is read. Proceeds benefit the Ipswich Food Pantry and Ipswich Caring.

An outdoor adventure for the whole family! An easy rambling walk that will take us along the Cedar Point Trail to Steep Hill Beach with naturalists from The Trustees of Reservations. We’ll take note of how winter has changed the landscape, and how plants and animals adapt to survive this “dormant” season. Our wander will end in the Pine Grove, where we’ll warm up with hot chocolate around a campfire.
Join The Trustees of Reservations for a harrowing Halloween Hike through the haunted trails of the Crane Wildlife Refuge! This night boasts the only “black moon” of 2016, so it will be very dark and scary!
According to Farmer's Almanac, there is no astronomical significance in a Black Moon. Nothing happens, except the usual New Moon absence of any Moon in the sky, plus the stronger tides we get for a few days around every Full Moon and New Moon.
