The Salem Zombiewalk has been an annual event for a number of years. This is a great family-friendly event of a genre that incorporates all aspects of life, or rather, undead that takes place in Halloweentown, USA during Halloween Season. Prior to the Zombiewalk, participants gather at Collins Cove Park for some field day activities, last minute costume tweaks and alterations, and of course to admire other lovers of the Zombie theme. Pets are welcome, so long as they are crowd friendly and well-behaved (and don't mind Zombies). Details are on the official flyer, please look for it on Facebook, and share the event. Fun activities start at 3:30pm with zombie kickball, parade at 4:30.
In partnership with the Imagination Foundation, the Phoenix School will host its annual Cardboard Challenge at Armory Park in Salem. Join in the worldwide celebration of creativity and imagination where everyone is challenged to design and create using cardboard and recycled materials. Presented by the Salem Maritime National Historic Site, the annual Salem Maritime Festival in August hosts an exciting array of free family fun festivities, including live music, traditional craft demonstrations and seaport trade exhibits, story-telling, and family fun! Each year, music, demonstrations, exhibits, and children's activities are available throughout the park and on Derby Wharf.
The Salem Maritime Festival is hosted by Salem Maritime, your national park in Salem in cooperation with Essex Heritage. From live music, historical re-enactors, and tall ships, to interactive programs and crafts for families, all events and activities are free and open to the public. The Salem CultureFest 2014 will feature live bands who showcase many cultures and styles, as well as other performers (TBA) who will entertain you while you enjoy exploring the unique arts, crafts, and wares of our areas finest artists and crafters. Over 2000 visitors are expected to attend this fun family-friendly event.
Paddle for Plummer is a Stand Up Paddle (SUP) fundraiser event that includes Elite, Recreational and Fun Paddles. Elites will complete a 5 mile paddle, recreational paddlers will complete a 2 mile paddle and a short course (1 or 2 mile) will be available for fun paddlers. There will be food, beverages, music, raffles, and more. All proceeds to the Plummer Home.
The Phoenix School Summer Program 2014 - We pick up where other camps leave off!
Summer Adventures @ Phoenix are offered at the beginning and the end of the summer. From outdoor exploration of natural habitats to the real world excitement of technology and the arts, come spend some of your summer with The Phoenix School. Summer Adventures at Phoenix is a series of week long programs held for two weeks at the end of June and the last two weeks in August.
French native speaker and French teacher Caroline, will introduce the French language to babies with songs, rhythms, and games.
Children from infant to 14 months will learn the colors, sing the most popular French lullabies, and hear numbers, alphabet, animals and more! Each week will have a different theme. A book will be read and toys will at the disposition of the babies during the class.
