This evening event will provide a tour of ifarm’s many facets, including: the farm’s 240-year history, our historic farmhouse, barn, and carriage house venues, our cut flower gardens, (which feature over forty varieties of flowers) and our permaculture (permanent agriculture) gardens, which utilize both traditional and innovative techniques for raising crops as sustainably as possible.

Then take a short walk in the field to see & hear bat activity and at the site of Maudslay’s newly in stalled bat box.

Join us for a walking tour of Fish Flake Hill Historic District! The site of the town’s revolutionary and early national period maritime industries, and home to Beverly’s merchants and sea captains, Fish Flake Hill was the town’s primary business district until the mid-nineteenth century. See the Museum through the eyes of a child with this animated family tour of paintings, sculpture and maritime objects. Learn to think and see like an artist, a fisherman or quarry worker. Created for children ages 3–12 with their caregivers. This 30-minute tour ends in the Activity Center for art projects and play. Free for CAM members or with Museum admission. Space is limited, registration required.
Enjoy a guided tour of Halibut Point State Park around the Babson Farm Quarry, unearthing the granite industry era followed by a traditional hand-tool stone splitting demonstration. Halibut Point itself is made of sheets of 440 million year-old granite that now cascades from rocky headlands to the abundant tidal pools below. The panorama encompasses views from Crane Beach in Ipswich to Mount Agamenticus in Maine and the Isles of Shoals off the coast of New Hampshire. This glorious natural landscape is breathtaking and inspiring.
The Coast Guard Barque EAGLE is making a port call in Salem, MA this August - arriving August 9 and staying through August 11! The ship was built in 1936 in Germany, and commissioned as Horst Wessel, one of three sail training ships operated by the pre-World War II German navy. At the close of World War II, Horst Wessel was taken as a war reparation by the United States, recommissioned as the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle and sailed to New London, Connecticut. Eagle provides an unparalleled at-sea leadership and professional development experience for future officers of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Plum Island Airport RC Club hosts the 7th Annual Plum Island IMAC Scale Aerobatics Competition contest at beautiful Plum Island Airport. This is a unique venue since we are literally on the road to the beach so spectators often are present. We love our spectators and community at Plum Island and they love to see the scale aerobatics and of course our jet events.
