Join The Trustees of Reservations for a paddle and a hike – what better way to spend an afternoon? Circumnavigating an island is one of the great rewards of kayaking and reaching the summit of a hill that offers a great view is one of the payoffs of a good hike. This adventure in the Crane Wildlife Refuge offers an opportunity to do both in one outing. We’ll paddle around three islands, the largest of which—Choate (formerly Hog) Island—supports myriad birds and mammals including egrets, herons, deer, and coyote.
The Trustees of Reservations invites kids and their families to shake off the winter cold as we celebrate springtime at Long Hill with our very special Spring Egg Hunt Trail! During this fun, family event, you’ll explore the trail and complete an exciting scavenger hunt as you go. Then, spend some time creating a spring-themed craft and visit the petting zoo on site. This springtime celebration is perfect for the whole family.
Goats to Go's Annual Special Lamb Event: Meet the Lambs & Farm Visit. This 1-hour event involves a farm visit with meet and greet of the Katahdin sheep and the new lambs, as well as the other animals such as Llama and our Fainting Goats. Please note these may not involve cuddling or holding the lambs but we will do our best to get one for you to hold. We will have you outside the enclosure and along the fence line. Some areas in the barn we will not be able to social distance, so please plan accordingly and bring a mask/face covering as you feel necessary. Please arrive at least 30 mins before the end of the event session time. Advanced Online Registration is required.
Cape Ann is known worldwide for its exciting concentrations of winter seabirds. Thousands of birders visit the rugged coast of Cape Ann and scan the adjacent waters hoping to spot some of the unusual and highly sought-after seabirds that spend the winter months just offshore. The best way to get to see these birds and experience them up close is to visit them in their natural habitat- on the ocean!
