Lahey Health hosts the Fourth Annual Teddy Bear Clinic and Ice Cream Social As part of the Danvers Family Festival. Bring your favorite stuffies to a Teddy Bear Clinic at Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers. The bears and other stuffed animals will explore health care experiences, providing children an opportunity to play doctor and learn about healthy habits from clinicians at Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers. Does your child’s teddy bear or favorite snuggly toy need a check-up? No teddy bear? Don’t worry! The first 100 “doctors” will get a brand new teddy bear for participating.
This event is FREE and no pre-registration is required. Danvers Family Festival tradition continues this year with the Annual Danvers Recreation Fishing Derby in Memory of Mike Gordon. The fun family event will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 11:00am sharp. (All fish must be weighed-in by 11am). Anglers of all ages will line the perimeter of the picturesque Mill Pond in Danvers and cast their lines in the morning air. Hoots and hollers can be heard as kids and their parents make a catch! (Mainly perch, catfish and pickerel)
The annual Ice Cream Scoop-Ahhh-bowl will present flavors from local ice cream parlors for sampling. A $5.00 ticket allows you to sample various flavors from all of our ice cream sponsors: Goodies, Cherry Farm Creamery, Captain Dusty’s Ice Cream, Putnam Pantry, Richardson’s Dairy, and Treadwells. There will be games, and other fun activities so come on down and enjoy.
Pack up the gang for a day of exciting attractions and competitive and silly sporting events for the entire family. Our 3rd Annual Field Day and Scoop-Ah-Bowl will bring back our Red Sox Mobile unit, High Flying Dogs Frisbee show, World Class magician, plenty of food trucks, fantastic music and many more surprises. The younger kids will love our obstacle course and all the classic summertime favorites like dizzy bat, three legged and other fun races, watermelon eating contests, face painting, a balloon artist extraordinaire, and a wiffleball tourney for all skill levels!
Hosted by the Danvers Rotary, the Danvers Farmers Market has fresh fruit produce and other locally made foods every Wednesday June through August in the heart of Danvers Massachusetts. The Danvers Memorial Day parade begins at Town Hall at 9 a.m. sharp, and will follow the traditional route of previous years - down Sylvan Street, through downtown and back to Town Hall. Stops and placement of wreaths will be at the Porter Cemetery on High Street, Lane Parkway, and the Memorial Flag Pole in Danvers Square. A reviewing stand will be at the corner of Elm and Essex streets. The Memorial Day exercise will commence at Town Hall upon parade completion. Any veterans interested in marching arrive at 8:30.
Support the 5th Annual LUNGstrong 5K & 1½ mile Walk! 100% of proceeds supports lung cancer research at the Mass General Cancer Center under the direction of Dr. Alice Shaw. This event is more than a run/walk...there is great food, drink and music as well as other activites. Awards are given to the runners in the top catagories as well as to the largest fundraiser and fundraiser team. We encourage people to put teams together and teams greater than 10 people are able to have a LUNGSTRONG tee costumized with their team name (for people registered by May 1st).
