Meet Cassie at Cape Ann Museum!

Take a break from the screen and come visit the Cape Ann Museum with your kids during April Vacation Week - Meet Cassie at the Cape ann Museum! Reserve a timed entrance for you and your family to follow the Museum's new family-friendly guide, Cassie the Sea Serpent, through the galleries. Inspired by the Cape Ann Sea Serpent, which was seen by hundreds in Gloucester Harbor between 1817-1819, Cassie poses questions and activities for students of all ages to engage with the collection. During April Vacation Week, all visitors will receive a free copy of Cassie’s Scavenger Hunt with activities and crayons included.
Kids Minecraft Club at SFL

Play Minecraft with other children grades 1-5 (ages 6 and up) Learn new tricks from each other and explore and build in a world together. This group is for children in grades 1 and up. Due to our child safety policy, at least one parent per session will need to volunteer to stay in the room the entire time of the program, from 3:30-4:30. Please register for just one session per month. If registration is full, please sign up on the wait list and we will schedule you soon!
Dads & Donuts At Sawyer Free

This is a great opportunity for dads (uncles, grandfathers, cousins or other father figures) to spend time with their kids! Come to the Sawyer Free Library with the kids for a storytime filled with songs, stories,snacks and fun! Great for kids aged 2-6 (siblings are welcome). Moms and siblings welcome to attend.
North Shore Gamers Game Day

Looking to get into the fun of modern board gaming? Come and learn from the best! North Shore Gamers will be hosting a game day open to all levels and types of board gamers. Bring your favorite game or play from our communal library.
Ipswich Empty Bowl Dinner

The Open Door and the Ipswich Lions Club team up to host an evening of food and hospitality. This is a simple meal of a bowl of soup — donated by local businesses — bread and a cookie. The bowl going home will be empty as a reminder than someone somewhere is going hungry.
February Vacation Workshops at Art Haven

Cape ann Art Haven has a great selection of art focused morning workshops during February Vacation in addition to their regular classes and open studio in the afternoons. Kids can take part in morning sessions, afternoon sessions or stay for a full day!
Learn to Skate and Play

Boys and girls from the ages 3-16 can learn to skate and develop hockey skills in Cape Ann Youth Hockey's various programs. Cape Ann Learn-to-Skate program is held at Gloucester's Talbot Rink and provides crates for the kids learning to skate for the first time. Kids will be amazed at how quickly they learn balance, turns, and the skills they acquire to raise themselves up after a fall. Coaches are there to support, care, and teach your children to skate. The rink is divided into three sections and as children progress, they begin playing mini games, and are introduced to basic hockey skills.
Pack the Bus for Pathways!

Come stop by the hotel any day between 9am and 9pm before December 19th and drop a new, unwrapped toy into the blue beach bus. The bus doors will be closed for the season December 19th at 2PM. Let's get this bus packed again this year! Pack our beach bus with toys for Pathways! Between Friday, November 29th and December 19th, stop by Beauport Hotel Gloucester anytime between 9am and 9pm daily and place a new, unwrapped toy in our blue beach bus. All toys will be donated to Pathways for Children.
Wingmasters at Sawyer Free Library

Join the specialists of Wingmasters for a live birds of prey demonstration at Sawyer Free library during the Middle Street Walk 2025! Birds of prey are also known as raptors, and they are hunting birds characterized by hooked beaks and powerful grabbing feet armed with sharp talons (the word raptor comes from a Latin word that means "to seize"). Raptors can also boast the best eyesight and the sharpest hearing in the animal kingdom. Raptors include hawks, falcons and owls. This program is for ages 6 & up. This live presentation introduces 5 live birds of prey, all native to New England! All audience members must be seated in chairs, maximum capacity is 70 people.
