Calling all budding naturalists! Take inspiration from the beautiful landscape at Crane Estates and join us for a special session of creativity and observation. Families will create nature journals using a book-binding technique demonstrated by our coastal educators. Afterwards, participants will hike to inspiring parts of the estate where they can draw and document observations in their newly created journals. Our coastal educators will lead everyone through observational exercises and offer guidance as you make your first journal entry.
Join Pastry Chef Sam Burns to delve into the world of honeybees and the various pastries and desserts that are made possible with the honey they produce. With over ten years of beekeeping experience, we will discuss the general practices of keeping bees in our northern climate and the process of harvesting honey from production hives.
Come to the 20th Annual Crane Estate Art Show and Sale: Celebrating the Past, Present, and Future and enjoy amazing paintings, photography, fiber art, and sculpture! During the Art Show you’ll see over 200 pieces of original artwork, student works, a funky small works gallery, unusual gifts at the Castle Hill gift shop, and that perfect find. Theater in the Open ’s notorious annual haunting of Maudslay is going on tour! Join our cast of the undead for a half-hour walk through eerie vignettes, spooky sketches and haunting scenes, all surrounded by the changing colors and autumn grandeur of Appleton Farm's in Ipswich Massachusetts. Bring the whole family for a variety of tricks and treats, this event is intended for all ages.
Want to learn how to make a festive pie in time for Halloween? Join our baker Kami and learn some tips and tricks to manipulate pie dough to make some creepy creations! Everyone will walk away from the class with pie dough and their own Halloween themed desserts to take home. No need to pick between Trick or Treat as once you have learned your new tricks, the class will end with a shared treat!
Join The Trustees of Reservations for an Open House at Moraine Farm! We’re very excited to host a Moraine Farm Open House with our property partners this Fall. Happening Sunday October 15th from 11am – 2pm, join us as we open up this very special property for the day.
