The early portion of the evening will be the traditional LAUNCH! event. This event is free to all and family-friendly, with a $5 suggested donation to help support Salem Main Streets’ “Holiday Happenings” initiatives, including the Holiday Tree and the wreaths and ribbons around the downtown. Family programming will include hat making, photo booth, kids’ silent disco, interactive art exhibit with Phil Wyman, and more! There will be an early countdown just before 6 pm.
New Year's Eve
MarketStreet Lynnfield celebrates New Year’s Eve with its third annual Family Block Party, a festive bash for the whole family, taking place in Market Square (located next to Starbucks and Panera Bread) on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. MarketStreet Lynnfield’s resident DJ, Rick DeSanctis, will ring in the New Year with beats while guests can enjoy street performers and discounted skating at The MarketStreet Rink. Giving the entire family the opportunity to watch “the ball drop,” MarketStreet Lynnfield, in partnership Brookwood School, will drop 1,000 colorful beach balls at 7:00PM in Market Square. www.marketstreetlynnfield.com
The MarketStreet New Year’s Eve Family Block Party is free and open to the public. Highlights include:
Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat will be visiting the Children's Museum of New Hampshire to greet young fans and help promote the love of reading via the Books Alive program. At this Books Alive event, museum staff will be reading Curious George stories by Margret and Hans “H.A.” Rey throughout the day. The friendly costumed monkey character, accompanied by the Man with the Yellow Hat, will be popping in and out to greet children, exchange a hug or high-five, and pose for photos.
There is no better way to ring in the New Year with family and friends of all ages than at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s annual New Year’s Eve Celebration. The museum is open to the public on December 31st from 10 am – 3 pm as we create festive party hats, tie our wishes for the new year to balloons and host “countdowns to midnight” at 11 am, 12:30 pm and 2 pm.
