The Newburyport Public Library is hosting a beaded jewelry crafting session.Drop in to do some beading! Make a bracelet, necklace, or other accessory. No registration necessary. This program is open to kids of all ages and abilities, but caregivers should be aware that there will be small pieces in the room.
Whether you're a painting beginner or a pro, join us to appreciate just how beautiful winter can be by painting winter scenes with watercolors. Local artist and Refuge volunteer Patricia Lane Evans will teach participants techniques on how to paint snowy landscapes and how to frame a scene. We'll also have time to make creative watercolor Valentines Day themed cards! All ages welcome, and materials will be provided.

Over the course of this workshop, students create with over a dozen different building materials including "Lego" "PlusPlus" and custom-made Buildwave materials. The workshop is structured like a video game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves.

SOLD OUT! Learn how to craft a beautiful wreath for the holidays or for the winter season with Iris Weaver! Using fresh greens, foraged dried plant stalks, pine cones, nuts, faux berries and leaves, cinnamon sticks, and more, you’ll create a unique 8″ to 12” wreath during this two-hour workshop. This wreath is a lovely way to bring the energy of the season into your home. All materials will be provided, though we suggest bringing a box to transport your wreath home afterward.
Join Pastry Chef Sam Burns to construct and decorate festive gingerbread houses to celebrate the winter season. Construction material will include house-made gingerbread, frostings, and fondant. An array of nostalgic candies will provide the finishing details to our construction project. Suitable for ages 6+, the only requirements are imagination, patience and persistence with a piping bag. Homemade cocoa and sweets will be provided to fuel our project, and constructed gingerbread homes will be packed for safe transport home.

Learn some of our tips and tricks to putting together a low stress, diverse and delicious cookie box, including recipe selection to baking schedules. And what’s a cookie class without the cookies?! Help us bake and decorate a farmhouse favorite, with a few twists and a small box to take home to a loved one (or tell no one and polish it off on your car ride home…) BYOB
