Mini Solar Car Workshop

Worcester Area Think Tank hosts a workshop at Manchester Public Library where kids will make their own mini solar cars!

Worcester Think Tank offers affordable educational programs and workshops in science, mathematics, technology, and creative arts for students aged 8-18. Join them to explore renewable energy sources at the Manchester Public Library. You’ll design and build your own small solar powered car to take home! Who can make the coolest, fastest car?

Beethoven, Bach & Brahms with Cape Ann Symphony

Cape Ann Symphony presents a trio of world call soloists for their Beethoven, Bach and Brahms Triple Concerto

Cape Ann Symphony’s May Concert features The Three B’s: Bach, Beethoven and Brahms: a trio of renowned composers; and world class soloists: violinist Lucia Lin, cellist Owen Young and pianist Robert Levin for a classical music performance to remember. These three powerful soloists join the orchestra for Beethoven’s Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello and Piano. The Three B’s Concert program also includes the orchestra playing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.3 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 3 in F Major. Manchester-Essex High School Auditorium is handicapped accessible.

What a great time to clean out your closet, bookshelves and more. The Friends of the Manchester Public library are actively working on the upcoming booksale (Saturday July 30th) and welcome your clean, usable book donations.

Please bring these to the library in one or two bags or boxes at a time, this lets the volunteer group keep up with the flow for sorting, pricing, and storing. Your help is much appreciated!

A Global Tour with Cape Ann Symphony

Grisha Goryachev is renowned for his extraordinary musical sensitivity and technical virtuosity.

Thrill to music from Austria, Spain and Japan. Beethoven’s Fifth is possibly the world’s most well known symphony with its powerful four note opening. Rodrigo’s immediately recognizable and popular Concierto de Aranjuez put Rodrigo on the map as one of the world’s great 20th Century composers. It also helped make the classical guitar the respectable solo instrument it has become.

Koto’s Stormy and Calm Seas a new piece commissioned by the Cape Ann Symphony is a musical depiction of the ocean during a storm and the calm that comes afterwards.
