Manchester Athletic Club Sports Performance Training for kids

FUNStart Sports Performance Training is designed for kids, ages 4-5 years old. This is a key time to develop speed, coordination, flexibility, balance and mobility. On top of that, kids can gain strength and learn basic movement patterns needed in most every sport. This type of activity is the basis for future athletic development.

This class meets one time per week for 45 min. Each class focuses on fun, but key, athletic movement patterns and sports which will support the development of coordination, strength, speed and flexibility. Most importantly, these kids will build confidence to take along their journey in lots of other ways!

MAC Barre fuses Pilates, Ballet and Resistance Training

MAC: Tennis Academy and Junior Tennis Program

Kids learn to play tennis at Manchester Athletic Club Tennis Academy, and Junior

There are a few openings left for the MAC Junior Tennis Programs.

  • JV/VARSITY PRACTICE (Ages 12 and Up) Monday 6-7:30, Wednesday 6-7:30. The JV/Varsity Practice, which runs for 1½ hours, is targeted for more advanced players that have excelled in their 10-12 Green Ball or Teen level classes. The JV/Varsity runs at a 4:1 ratio. Competition: USTA Tournaments and High School Tennis
  • Foam Ball Class for 5-6 Years Old: 3:30-4:30. Perfect for the K-1st graders. Court size: 36’ Court/Racquet size: 19- 21": The size of the courts and racquets are geared to let the 5-6 year-old players focus on developing tennis skills. The classes feature both drill-court and paired activities. Instructors create rally-building situations for students to facilitate their tactical and technical development and encourage their enthusiasm for the game.

Brookwood School proudly welcomes award-winning journalist and author Ashley Merryman of NurtureShock: New Thinking About Children, as the first speaker in 2012-2013 4 to 14 Speaker Series: Parenting Elementary School Kids.  This is an event that every parent should attend to learn how successful parents and educators are helping their children find success in school and in life.

Manchester Athletic Club is hosting a youth triathlon for kids ages 5-14 on the North Shore!Kids will run, swim and bike their way to victory and learn about the limits of their physiques! Moon Party!

Celebrate International Observe the Moon Night at the Manchester Public Library!

International Observe the Moon Night will be held on Tuesday, Septmeber 25th, 6:30 PM on the Manchester Public Library lawn. Join us as we use high gear binoculars, several telescopes, and create a night of moon fun for the whole family. Last year, Youth Services Librarian Sara Collins participated in the first ever Observe the Moon Night here at Manchester with over 50 people of all ages passing through the many scopes and NASA binoculars on the lawn.
