Kids and their families are invited to the Ipswich Museum for a Haunted House each weekend in October! Enter if you dare! Our Haunted House is open Saturdays in October from 7-9pm. Entry is free but donations are gladly accepted.
Trick or Treat Ipswich! Ipswich Business Roundtable has organized and sponsors Downtown Trick or Treat! For the sake of safety we would highly recommend that everyone start at the footbridge leading from Ebsco lot to South Main. If we keep foot traffic going in one direction, it will make for less congestion on the sidewalks. From there, please continue into South Main and make a loop through downtown’s Market Street, Central Street to the Fire Station. Safety first. Thanks everyone. Join Clifton Lutheran Church for a fall-filled outdoor community event and bring the whole family! Enjoy gourmet sausages from the Mr. Sausage food truck, apple cider donuts, Haitian beer, music, yard games, and crafts for kids.
To encourage outdoor play and exploration of the great outdoors, this nature-based toddler playgroup will combine themed guided play with opportunities for free time for children and their caregivers to peek under rocks, inspect tree bark for hiding bugs and explore the gardens. Held at Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens every Tuesday morning, join one or all of the sessions and explore the hidden worlds beneath our feet and above our heads.
Wetlands are known for their rich variety of plant and animal life. Come explore Bunker Meadow Pond and the Ipswich River for a close-up look at a place where hundreds of hungry creatures are always on the hunt. Using nets and other collecting equipment, we'll dip into the water, sweep through the weeds, and scoop up some mud to discover the creatures that live there. Wear boots if you have them. For kids ages 3-11.

Joppa Flats' engaging and experienced staff will introduce families to local beaches, forests, and wetlands to make observations in nature, identify wildlife, and enjoy hands on science activities outdoors. Sign up for one, some, or all!
Come to Joppa Flats this summer to enjoy some live animal encounters both outdoors in our riverside yard and indoors in our air conditioned lobby! You'll rotate through different live animal stations at your own pace, and may choose to spend your time handling tide pool creatures such as sea urchins and sea stars, meeting moon snails and hermit crabs from the sandy beach, and/or learning about minnows and horseshoe crabs from the salt marsh. We'll also introduce you to our 'seasonal specials' that our interns are raising for release. You might even see praying mantis hatchlings, monarch caterpillars, or American toadlets! Family friendly activities, self-guided science stations and take-home nature crafts - something for everyone!

The house is so big and Mrs. Crane’s kitty, Ptolemy, has gone missing just before the party! Can you help a family servant find our mischievous Siamese? Once he’s found, we’ll have just enough time to dress for the party!
