The award winning documentary Chasing Ice will be showing on at Cape Ann Community Cinema, as a benefit to support the marine science and environmental programs at Maritime Gloucester.  Come see this award winning film, learn about the realities of climate change and help benefit a great local educational resource on Cape Ann!

Notre Dame Children's Class Annual Yard Sale a charity fundraiser in Wenham.

Notre Dame Children's Class will hold its huge annual YARD SALE on Saturday October 13, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the school, located at 74 Grapevine Road in Wenham, Massachusetts. The Sale is free, handicapped accessible, and will take place rain or shine. All sales will be final.

Come to the book launch for Crustacean Vacation at the Children's Museum of NH!

Feeling a bit crabby? Then be a little shellfish and join author Brian Benoit and illustrator Marty Kelley to celebrate the release of their new picture book, [amazon 978-1934031957 inline] at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire! Special programs, at 2:00 and 2:45 will include a reading of Crustacean Vacation by the author, art activities led by the illustrator, a question and answer period, book signing, and more. There will even be a chance to take a photograph of yourself as an octopus lifeguard, one of the characters from the book.

Brookwood School is proud to host its fourth PMC Kids Ride. We hope to hit the $15,000 mark with funds raised by kids in Manchester, Massachusetts and the twenty-six surrounding communities represented by riders in past years. Many kids, many bikes, one mission: cure cancer. Kids of all ages find fun, camaraderie, and inspiration in bringing us closer by the mile to the cure for cancer with donations to the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Pan-Ipswich Challenge

The Pan-Ipswich Challenge traverses Ipswich by trail and raises funds for ECTA

The ECTA Pan Ipswich Challenge is a ~20 mile walk or run fundraiser from the west end of Ipswich (Hood Pond) to the coast (Steep Hill Beach) that will highlight some of the best trails and open lands on the North Shore! Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 through pledges with the proceeds going to the ECTA.

The Lucky Duck Derby, hosted by Newburyport Youth Services, is a family event

The Lucky Duck Derby, hosted by Newburyport Youth Services, is a family and community event. Don’t be a Lame Duck, join the fun! Participants will 'sponsor' ducks. Children will receive a 'Duckie Certificate' and be able to name their ducks. Up to 2,000 rubber duckies will be numbered and placed in the Bartlet Mall pond. The Big Duck will head out in a row boat and randomly pick the winning ducks!

Bees are in trouble and humans can help. Within the past few years, a syndrome has been destroying bee colonies world-wide in a cycle referred to as Colony Collapse Disorder. In 'Queen of the Sun', director Taggart Siegel explores the world of bees and looks for answers to the sudden crisis that is threatening bee populations around the planet. Come to this screening at the Waldorf School at Moraine Farm on the The Trustees of Reservations Moraine Farm to learn more about the bees' plight and Moraine Farm's plan to make a difference for the bees.
