The friends and family of Colleen Ritzer have created this 5K walk/run to celebrate Colleen’s life and her commitment to help and inspire others. Through the Step Up for Colleen event, organizers hope to enhance a sense of community and overall goodwill as we come together to honor Colleen and the values by which she lived.
It is only a matter of a few short minutes before it is too late to save a life … learning what to do provides you precious minutes and gives someone a chance to survive. The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of child CPR with breaths, child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for children and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

The Essex Lion's Club hosts the annual turkey trot in beautiful Essex Massachusetts! This year the race is a 5K and a 5k fun walk. Race starts at 11:00am for runners and 10am for walkers. Registration is at Woodman’s Restaurant (upstairs), 121 Main Street, Essex, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, or pre-register online.
Rowley Volunteer Fire Protection Association Hosts 1st Annual Rowley Veterans Day 5K and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run. The Rowley Volunteer Fire Protection would like to sponsor this event to help raise money for our Rowley Veterans Committee as well as start raising money for next year's Memorial Day Parade. This Community Block Party is also a fundraiser for the Magnolia Library and the Magnolia Community Farmer's Market. A parking shuttle will be available from Stage Fort Park and is an easy way to get to the event.
