Enjoy a summer afternoon at Grace Oliver Beach during low tide and discover the living wonders of the sandy coastline. Walk across the mudflats to Crowninshield Island, where we will search for tiny fish, hermit crabs, periwinkles, and other sea creatures living in this delicate habitat. Explore the five-acre island and its unusual variety of landforms, from granite rocks and tidal pools to sandy beach, salt marsh, and wooded hilltop.

The Garden Project in Marblehead

The Garden Project welcomes families (with children ages 5 & up, younger siblings welcome) for boots-on fun as we plant, water, weed, harvest, eat and celebrate our way through the vegetable growing season.

Together we’ll grow and discover a variety of vegetables to be donated to the Marblehead Food Pantry. Along the way, we’ll learn about science and nutrition through culinary and garden-inspired games, stories and celebrations.

All gardening abilities welcome!

Join the effort to protect our endangered right whale. Hear local children’s author Angela Kakabeeke share her new book, Whale Alert!, about the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. Angela is excited to work with Women Working for Oceans (W2O) and the New England Aquarium in sharing this story.
