Boston’s third annual Inventgenuity Festival is presented by Beam Camp, a New Hampshire summer camp for the applied arts, technology and collaboration. The weekend Festival will be loaded with a tremendous range of activities led by Beam’s staff of artists, engineers and big thinkers. The Inventgenuity Festival has become a popular annual winter celebration of making things for kids ages 7-14 and their parents.

The Life is Good Festival in Canton this September has a lot of great acts performing over all weekend long, but did you know they've gone out of their way to provide special entertainment for the kids? The 16th year celebration of the is dedicated to the preservation, protection and sharing of the cultural heritages of the Southeast Asian Americans of Greater Lowell, Massachusetts area.

Every 3rd Saturday in August, more than 60,000 people from around the country and the world come to Lowell to celebrate water as it is celebrated in Southeast Asia. They come for the blessings, food, crafts, performances and (of course) the races.

Kids ages 10 and up are invited to join the Summer Music Festival at NECC

Northern Essex Community College is offering a week-long Summer Music Festival at its Haverhill Campus for pianists, violinists, and cellists of all musical levels, August 6 through August 10.  Open to musicians 10 and older, the program will focus on solo and chamber repertoire, technique, and fundamental music theory, all in relation to their historical content.

Lowell Folk Festival

The largest free folk festival in the nation, with continuous music on six outdoor stages, takes place July 27-29, 2012 in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts. A partial lineup of performers, representing folk, bluegrass, gospel, world music, dance and more, appears below. The festival takes place on six different stages in historic downtown Lowell.

Beverly Homecoming was first celebrated in 1966, making 2012 the 47th annual celebration. The week is just around the corner, and the Homecoming Committee is expecting record crowds. Planning for the 2012 week-long event began just as last year's fireworks went off, and more fun is planned.

Beverly Homecoming will take place July 27, 2012 – August 5, 2012. The Lobster Festival, one of Homecoming’s highlights, will take place on Wednesday, August 1st at Lynch Park.

The Lucky Duck Derby, hosted by Newburyport Youth Services, is a family event

The Lucky Duck Derby, hosted by Newburyport Youth Services, is a family and community event. Don’t be a Lame Duck, join the fun! Participants will 'sponsor' ducks. Children will receive a 'Duckie Certificate' and be able to name their ducks. Up to 2,000 rubber duckies will be numbered and placed in the Bartlet Mall pond. The Big Duck will head out in a row boat and randomly pick the winning ducks!
