Amesbury Days 2018 begins with the Senior BBQ on Thursday, June 28th, and we close out the festival with the Fireworks show at Woodsom Farm on Wednesday, July 4th.

ART + NATURE Summer Camp at Sparhawk School
The Art+Nature Summer Program is designed for students ages 5-10 years old who love building, creating, exploring and having a messy good time. Each week your child will be immersed in a theme, with new art and nature focused projects. Learning adventures take place on the beautiful grounds and in classrooms at our Lower campus as well as in the natural classrooms in nearby communities. The Art+Nature staff is comprised of Sparhawk School staff and alumni as well as art and nature specialists from our extended community.
Sparhawk School is proud to present the 2nd annual Steamroller Printmaking Event! Sparhawk students have created woodcuts and collagraphs that will be inked and printed under the weight of a 2,000 lb steamroller! Tons of family friendly art activities, raffles, food and more!
This year, we have created two community workshops where attendees can create a collagraph that will be inked and printed on the day of the event. Classes are $30 and includes all materials & print.
Register today for this special parent & child art class series on Wednesday mornings at the Sparhawk School with Catherine Kulik, the Sparhawk Elementary & Middle School art teacher. Your child will explore diverse ways of creating art and experiment with new, engaging materials while learning about line, color, texture and notable works of art. This class is sure to engage their sensory skills as well as their innate curiosity about the visual world around them. Each class is limited to ten children and runs for 5 week sessions.
Visit Lowell’s Boat Shop during their Annual Holiday Open House is a two day family event during the first weekend in December. On the main shop level, guests can enjoy a silent auction as well as a retail display featuring the shop's traditional hand crafted items as well as our seasonal merchandise.
Sparhawk School presents Big Art For All Humans, our annual open studios and community art creation weekend. Join us for live silkscreening, large scale sculpture creation, free take home art projects, HUGE spin art and so much more! This event is a huge hit for children of all ages. Best of all, it's free!

Come join the Lake Gardener Improvement Association for a guided, narrated hike of the Powow Hill Conservation Area -- the highest peak on the Essex County coast! During this hike from Lake Gardner beach to the Camp Kent Science Center, we'll explore the woodland alive with birdsong, the gentle rolling hills of Battis Farm, and picturesque Lake Gardner. Visit Lowell’s Boat Shop on thei Trails & Sails 2017! Founded in 1793, Lowell's Boat Shop is the oldest continuously operating wooden boat shop in the United States. Now a National Historic Landmark, Lowell's continues to build wooden boats in the traditional method. Located on the banks of the Merrimack River in Amesbury, Lowell's will be welcoming guests to learn more about its unique history and the craft of wooden boat building as it was practiced then and continues to be today.
