Visit Lowell’s Boat Shop during their Annual Holiday Open House is a two day family event during the first weekend in December. On the main shop level, guests can enjoy a silent auction as well as a retail display featuring the shop's traditional hand crafted items as well as our seasonal merchandise.

Amesbury Days 2016 promises to be ten days of fun-filled, community-focused events offering something for everyone including the ever-popular Block Party, Craft Brewfest, Classic Car Show, Giant Yard Sale, Movie in the Millyard, Lake Gardner Day. New events this year include a Poetry Night, Historical Walking Tour, Amesbury Trails guided hike in the Town Forest, and an Athletic Day in Landry Stadium for teens.
Sparhawk School in Amesbury Ma. is proud to present, Bye Bye Birdie with three shows May 20, 21, and 22. Rock star Conrad Birdie is the biggest thing to top the charts. Women love him, men want to be him and teenage girls around the country scream with glee at the mere mention of his name. But when the United States Army drafts Birdie, manager Albert Peterson sees his meal ticket preparing to fly the coop (much to the delight of longtime love Rose Alvarez, who can’t wait for Albert to ditch the music biz and become something respectable, like an English teacher).
Sparky's puppets is entertaining for preschool on up! In this adventure, a scientist builds a time machine and sets the dial for the past... and then the future! What will he discover? All told with handmade puppets and involving three tales this will be a hit with the whole familiy! Made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
Sparhawk School is proud to present the classic holiday play, It's A Wonderful Life. This film adaptation is directed by Robert Delibero, Sparhawk teacher and seasoned actor and director, and performed by Sparhawk School students and alumni.

Miss Lisa of the Joppa Flats Education Center visits Amesbury Public Library each month for a 1 hour program focused on pre-schoolers! Participants will be engaged, excited, and learning about all kinds of things in nature. Each program is an hour long and includes hands-on activities, group role play, and fun take homes. Sparhawk's PreK & Kindergarten programs are designed to build a love & excitement for learning through academically strong experiential programming. Children age four and five years learn by doing in a resource rich habitat designed especially for early elementary learners. Weekly curriculum includes integrated arts & music programming, math, science, literacy and Mandarin Chinese as their foreign language.
Register today for this special parent & child art class series on Wednesday mornings at the Sparhawk School with Catherine Kulik, the Sparhawk Elementary & Middle School art teacher. Your child will explore diverse ways of creating art and experiment with new, engaging materials while learning about line, color, texture and notable works of art. This class is sure to engage their sensory skills as well as their innate curiosity about the visual world around them. Each class is limited to ten children and runs for 5 week sessions.
