Yankee Homecoming Annual Bed Race hosted by the Lions Club of Newburyport

The Newbuyrport Yankee Homecoming Bed Race is an annual event in Newburyport hosted by the Lions Club of Newburyport.  The race is a ¼ mile team sprint down Federal Street to the finish line. Each team consists of 3 pushers, 2 pullers and a 'sleeper', and the goal is to get to the finish line with the bed and sleeper in the fastest time!   This is a fun event for the community and always draws a big crowd.  Come cheer on your favorite team, or just watch the fun! Funds raised will go to Lions Club charities.

Yankee Homecoming Road Race

The Yankee Homecoming Road Race has been a tradition Since 1960 and Running Strong through the heart of Newburyport

The tradition continues in 2025 on Tuesday, July 29th as we celebrate the 65th running of the NBPT Lions Yankee Homecoming Race. Imagine a beautiful Summer evening in the seaport town of Newburyport, MA.  Thousands of runners will enjoy our breathtaking 5K and 10 Miles courses along the ocean, through the bustling downtown and charming New England neighborhoods.  The NBPT Lions Yankee Homecoming 5K and 10M courses are truly picturesque as they have been for decades.

Yankeee Homecoming Waiter Waitress Race - a Homecoming event in Downtown Newburyport Massachusetts

The Newburyport Yankee Homecoming is a chance for folks to cheer the servers from their favorite Newburyport establishment as they race in a test of skill and speed while carrying a loaded tray. Check out participating restaurant's coupons/incentives for the week! Join the fun following the race for the Yankee Homecoming Waterfront Concert!

Annual Newburyport High Street Mile

The Annual High street Mile includes categories for kids races and is part of Newburyport Yankee Homecoming!

Now in its 32nd year, this one mile road race, occurring during Newburyport's Historic Yankee Homecoming Festival. It features multiple races including a children's heat with medals for all the little finishers! Cash prizes for overall and age group winners! There will be snacks and beverages at the finish line and beer tickets for a free beer and post race viewing party at the Winner's Circle Sport's Bar post race! Proceeds to benefit Winner's Circle Running Club and Newburyport All-Sports Boosters.

Yankee Homecoming Family Day

Newburyport Yankee Homecoming's Family Fun Day has a lot to offer in events and activities - Massachusettts.

Come to Nock Middle School as we start off our Super Saturday with good family fun!  Many local businesses, organizations and non-profits take part in our Family Day fun offering free crafts, games, activities and handouts.  Sit down for some lunch and listen to the band playing on the main stage or watch one of the performances taking part throughout the park.

Model Boat Building and Regatta

Kids can build a model boat and race it in a regatta on Redd's Pond in Marblehead

BRING THE KIDS - BRING YOUR FOLKS - BUILD & SAIL YOUR VERY OWN BOAT! This popular event begins with a workshop where participants construct model boats from provided kits at the Lee Mansion Gardens and ends with a competitive regatta at Redd's Pond.
