Come learn about penguins at Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport!

This parent/child program is designed for the creative, curious, and active preschooler who loves animals. Each 90-minute session offers a structured series of activities including original songs, movement, dramatic play, hands-on science, and a thematic snack. You'll receive coloring pages, song lyrics, vocabulary, a fun fact sheet, and a suggested reading list in an electronic goody bag! In this session, we'll focus on the peguins of the southern hemisphere!

Calling all LEGO lovers! Join us on Wednesday, Februrary 19th during school vacation for an exciting LEGO Friendship "Make & Take" event co-hosted by Essex Heritage and the National Park Service! Participants will have the chance to make and take home their very own lighthouse keeper minifigure and mini Bakers Island Light. Space is limited, so reservations are required. Be an Ocean Guardian!

Abbott Library in Marblehead hosts a fun recycling activity with Barbara Roy

How long does trash last? Come to the library for a fun recycling activity with Barbara Roy! Kids will learn what kinds of trash last and for how long a time, and how to protect sea creatures by keeping that trash out of the ocean. Barbara Roy is a 20-year Marblehead resident who recently crossed the Atlantic on a scientific mission to study micro-plastics. Children are invited to this interactive program, chosen as part of our Green Paws activity series.

CAM Pop-up Portrait Workshop

Cape Ann residents of all ages are invited to join Museum Educator Kendall Reynolds for a self portrait workshop. Sit down at a family style table in the Museum’s auditorium with members of the Cape Ann community to draw a portrait of yourself in oil pastel. This portrait workshop is part of a community-wide public art project to be unveiled at the June 2020 opening of the Museum’s expanded campus. Hope to see you there!

Spring Eggs Felting Workshop

Waldorf School in Beverly hosts a Spring Egg Felting workshop.

Spring is coming! Did you know that in many cultures all over the world, spring is celebrated with colored eggs? Join us to celebrate on Saturday, March 14, from 9:30am - 12:30pm. We will needle felt colorful eggs using soft, unspun wool fleece. Elizabeth Stubbs, a Waldorf early childhood teacher and artist will provide gentle, hands-on guidance to attendees. All skill levels welcome. $40 workshop fee includes instruction and materials and everyone will bring home at least 3 beautiful eggs. This workshop will take place at Waldorf School at Moraine Farm. NEER North is thrilled to be a part of the Animal Rescue day at the beautiful Tattersall Farm Grounds in Haverhill, MA

Trustees of Tattersall Farm are hosting a free guinea pig petting zoo and Animal Adoption Day at the Farm, 542 North Broadway, on Sunday, June 13, from noon to 3 p.m. Sheep, bunny, minihorse, and dog rescue leagues will be included.
