STROLL HAPPENINGS
Join Hammond Castle Museum as they host Gloucester High School Theater Program's very special performance of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play.” Based on the classic holiday movie with a clever twist thrown in: the story is staged as a live radio broadcast. Actors portray numerous characters, and sound effects are done through Foley tricks.
For the first time in years, Hammond Castle will be open to the public to celebrate the holiday season! The Museum will be open for self guided tours beginning Saturday December 7th through Friday December 20th from 10:00am to 3:00pm daily (except for Sunday December 15th when the Museum is closed for an event) with the last tickets sold at 2:30pm. We have invited local community groups and businesses to sponsor a room and decorate it and trim a tree! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to visit during the most festive time of year.
Make memories with your child or grandchild at our Children's Christmas Party. Set in the magnificent Great House lavishly decorated for the holidays, you'll enjoy holiday songs with children's entertainer Jennie Mack, a craft, refreshments, and of course, a special visit with Santa who will have a gift for every child. Reservations strongly recommended. Your name will be on a reservation list at the door rather than receiving tickets.
Come to Flint Library for refreshments, crafts, and a countdown to noon! This celebration is perfect for little ones who want to celebrate the New Year, but may be too young to stay awake until midnight. Make your own party hat, create a festive collage, and help us to welcome 2020! This party is for kids of all ages.
The Lynch/Van Otterloo hosts a Winter Wonderland Family Swim! Meet Santa! Enjoy Holiday music & family swim activities. Complimentary hot cocoa & cookies. Win prizes! Takes place in the small pool and cafe area. This is a complimentary family member benefit event.
Gloucester's Holiday Parade has been a is a great tradition to kick off the holidays! Come enjoy the parade, Santa, and the tree lighting at Kent Circle! Volunteers will line up parade participants at the State Fish Pier on Parker Street at 2:00 PM and will guide them through downtown Gloucester and on to Kent Circle for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Beverly’s annual Holiday Parade will be held Sunday, November 25, 2018. Marching bands, log rollers, majorettes, fire engines and dozens of community floats will join the guest of honor, Santa Claus, to make this a spectacular parade! It’s also a tradition for the parade committee to designate local organizations to benefit from items collected at the parade as well as portions of the funds raised at the event. Every Year the Beverly Holiday likes to Pay It Forward by raising awareness or donations for a local wonderful charitable cause.
A Newburyport tradition! As the holiday season approaches, Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive in the most fitting way for this seaport town... by US Coast Guard boat! Welcome Santa on the Sunday after Thanksgiving as he and Mrs. Claus dock at the boardwalk and begin to parade through downtown Newburyport, then gather in Market Square for the annual Christmas tree lighting and carols starting around 4pm.
