Come to the Lynn Museum for a special family-friendly fall fundraiser to support the mission of the Lynn Museum & Arts Center! Get into the fall spirit with this outdoor event featuring free carnival-style games, facepainting, touch a truck, hands-on activities, youth-friendly museum tours, and raffle prizes for all ages. Food will be available for purchase, and there will be a beer garden for those 21+.

Meet the wife of war hero, James Mugford; explore Fort Sewall with Glover’s Regiment; meet diarist Ashley Bowen portrayed by Donald Friary and experience an Anglican service at St. Michael’s church; participate in a recreated town meeting and decide whether or not to support the Patriot cause at the Old Town House; visit the Powder House; see the Spirit of ’76 painting; tour the Jeremiah Lee Mansion; and learn about the town’s Tory population at the “King” Hooper Mansion; among other opportunities. Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the 25th Annual Outdoor Sculpture at Maudslay Exhibit September 8-29 featuring 50 site specific sculptures by local artists addressing this year’s theme, ‘Thread' within the magnificence of Maudslay State Park in Newburyport. Look for the large green trail head signs featuring sculpture locations and instructions for downloading our simple phone app which will include the sculpture locations, photos, and artist statements.

Did you know the famous painting The Spirit of '76 painting resides at Abbot Hall in Marblehead? Take a guided tour of Abbot Hall, Marblehead’s fourth town meeting hall, whose corner stone was laid in 1876, the nation’s Centennial year. Be inspired by the life-size “Spirit of ’76” painting, explore historical scenes in WPA murals painted in 1934, and more. A different program in Abbot Hall is offered the following weekend.
Discover Salem’s Golden Age of Sail as you uncover clues! Celebrate America’s Maritime History! The Ladies of Salem will have you looking up at whimsical and beautifully designed figureheads gracing lampposts downtown. “What is a figurehead ?” you may ask? It’s a large carved wooden decorative three dimensional representation of a person, animal or mythical creature located at the bow (forward part) of a sailing ship. They were thought to bring good luck as the “eyes” of the ship. Each “Lady” has a unique story to tell. Just head to Destination Salem Visitors Center on Derby Street to pick up the scavenger hunt, and use QR codes to find the lady locations!
Maritime Gloucester is hosting their annual Heritage Day in honor of the Gloucester Schooner Festival 2024. Step aboard a schooner, learn about traditional shipbuilding and fitting out, watch America’s oldest marine railway in action, or explore the unique biology that makes our oceans so amazing. Maritime Gloucester will be hosting a variety of local community organizations with an exciting array of demonstrations and interactive options for all ages.

Each canvas has a pre-drawn stencil, perfect for artists of all ages and skill levels. Our canvas is 11”x14”, and all colors of paint will be available, allowing for endless creative possibilities. Join local award winning wire artist Ryan Kelley for a wire tree art class at The Salisbury Beach Carousel! Ryan will teach you how to create a wire tree in any style you want on an adult closed fist sized rock you provide during this two hour class! Ticket includes all of the tools and materials needed for you to create your own wire tree sculpture!
