Festival at the Farm is the small-sized music festival that you have been waiting for.
Spend the last days of summer enjoying live music with the picturesque Blue Hills as the backdrop. The farm provides plenty of elbow room, a huge dance floor and a sprawling lawn. Connect with folks. Bring the kids. Take a break from the tunes and hit up our farmers market, artist vendors, backyard games and more.
Come paint the sky with the gang from Kites Over New England (www.kone.org). They will be building the classic Eddy Kite, a diamond shaped kite with a six foot tail. Members of Kites Over New England will be demonstrating their single line and stunt kites. Beginner stunt kite pilots are encouraged to try their hands at this fun and challenging sport.
How wonderful to have kids view the world through a 64-color box of Crayola Crayons instead of an 8-color box, and the Children's Festival is here to help bring out the artist in every child. The Children’s Festival is a unique "hands on" arts-based program of activities directed toward children aged ten years and younger. . All activities are free of charge and all children should be accompanied by an adult.
This popular event begins with a workshop where participants construct model boats from kits that are provided, and ends with a regatta at Redd's Pond. Family team participation is encouraged. An adult must accompany all children. After constructing your yacht on the grounds of Lee Mansion Gardens, bring it down to Redd’s Pond for her first sail. As always, last year’s models are welcome at the regatta. This event is part of The Marblehead Festival of Arts.
