Historic Beverly hosts a community art show at the John Cabot House as part of Trails and Sails!

Join Historic Beverly at the Cabot House for the opening day of the 4th Annual Community Art Show which has a focused theme of “Strength, Perseverance, and Hope in Beverly”. The Historic Beverly Community Art Show consistently opens to rave reviews and this year will be like no other. This juried art show draws over 40 local artists who submit over 60 works of art from pastels and drawings to paintings and photography. This is an exhibit not to be missed!

The annual Middle Street Walk 2023 wraps up every year with the lighting of the lobster trap Christmas tree in Gloucester Massachusetts! Stop by Cape Ann Art Haven for a Holiday Party with hot chocolate, sweet treats, kids' crafts, holiday photos, face painting live music. Caroling starts at 4:30pm, followed by the tree lighting across the street at 5pm. Come find your buoy hanging on the tree, enjoy caroling, seeing the star put on the tree join us for the countdown and celebrate the season with the lighting of our Lobster Trap Tree!

New Planetarium Show Suited for Adults and Children with Sound/Light Sensitivities, and More

The first show, Big Bird's Adventure: One World, One Sky (Soft Light, Soft Sound) will be offered for the first time October 6 at 10:30 am and will also be shown on the first Sundays of November and December as well. With looser house rules, audience members should feel comfortable to talk amongst themselves and move from their seats, so that everyone feels welcome to enjoy the Planetarium experience and the wonders of the night sky regardless of sensory needs, ability, or age.

Spirit of Place Outdoor Exhibit

The Trustees and New England Sculptors Association are partnering to present a 6-month outdoor sculpture exhibition at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate located at 290 Argilla Road in Ipswich. The “Spirit of Place" exhibition includes 32 pieces created by New England's finest sculptors and placed in gardens, along woodland paths and alongside historic landscape features. This curated show opens May 18 and closes on November 11, 2019.

"The Little House" Opening Celebration

The Little House: Her Story exhibit opening at the Cape ann Museum in Gloucester Massaschusetts.

The Little House: Her Story features the work of beloved children's book author & illustrator and founder of the Folly Cove Designers Virginia Lee Burton (1909-1968). In addition to Burton's drawings, book illustrations and prints, an artfully-created scale model of her "Little House," which was fabricated in Japan for an exhibition held at the Gallery A4 in Tokyo last year, will also be on display in the gallery.

Tour PEM's Empresses of China's Forbidden City Exhibition as part of Trails and Sails 2018

This exhibition is the first to explore the role of empresses in shaping China’s last dynasty- the Qing dynasty - from 1644 to 1912. Nearly 200 spectacular objects from the Palace Museum tell the little-known stories of how imperial women influenced court politics, art and religion. Timed to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-China diplomatic relations, Empresses of China's Forbidden City is organized by the Peabody Essex Museum; the Smithsonian's Freer|Sackler, Washington, D.C.; and the Palace Museum, Beijing.
